Hi All,
I have a problem with NTP in QNX 4.25. I need to synchronize time with QNX(NTP client) and WinXP(NTP server)
my NTP client in QNX side, it setups xntpd 3.5 and my NTP server in WinXP, it is setups windows time service or NTP
server as third party software
when i try to run command ntpdate , it can not get time from NTP server. but i have done as same as on QNX 6, it's OK.
So problem here is QNX OS limited? or other reason?
Please help me to solve this issued?

Hi Tuan,
This issue of your NTP server. So you have to configure it, just decrease
stratum.

I have tried to use another NTP server(Meinberg) on Winxp
my NTP server configuration here
server 192.168.1.1
fudge 192.168.1.1 stratum 7
Then i got the same result as using window time service.
My network is OK, there are only a QNX PC and Windows XP PC and a hub

So i wonder here, why QNX6 can synchronize time with windows xp NTP server
but QNX 4.25 can not

This result is the same as I've got with QNX6 ntpdate.
Also I think that your configuration for Meinberg NTP server isn't correct.
Try the following one:
server 127.127.1.0 prefer
fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 12
And another thing I've found in your first message:

The 73.78.73.84 means that server isn't initialized yet. So it seems you
should wait a bit more before trying to synchronize with the server.

If i used Meinberg NTP server, it seems OK
but when i changed to windows time service, it cannot
i don't know reason exactly, maybe the windows' policy
