Supported hardware for QNX 4.25
Hi,

My customer wants to know, if following two systems are supported by QNX 4.25:
--------------------
No. 1:
Processor: Intel Atom N280
Chipset:
North bridge: Intel N280
South bridge: Intel ICH9M-E
Networking: Marvell 8071 with PXE support

And No. 2:
Processor: Intel Atom Z510 / Intel Atom Z530
Chipset: Intel US15W (this PC only have a DVI and no VGA interface - can there be any problems?)
Networking: Realtec RTL8111
-----
For the Networking: Realtec RTL8111

atch5545 )

I am sure that Net.rtl8169 from the File Releases
http://community.qnx.com/sf/frs/do/viewSummary/projects.qnx4/frs
may do it.

Any more input as for the other components is much welcome.

Regards,
Jeevan

Re: Supported hardware for QNX 4.25
Hi Jeevan,

In what kind of support is interested your customer? Fsys, Net, Photon,
USB? Are there any specific requirements like PXE booting etc?

It would be nice to see show_pci -vvv (or similar) output from the
specified boards. Marvell 8071 is not supported. There can be troubles with
performance of IDE/SATA and graphics drivers. The best way to get answer
on your question is try to install QNX 4.25 from the QNX4 Update CD 2009.

Re: Supported hardware for QNX 4.25
Thank you so much Oleg,

I didn't got more then I posted before.

I believe the focus from my customer is on the ATOM's and the complete "board-package" itself , but since this is x86 I
do not see any real reason why QNX425 shouldn't work on that, isn't it ?

I pointed them to the QNX425 2009-CD.

So have you been lucky by having a chance to test QNX425 on some Intel Atom board "on the whole" ?

Anyhow..:

...I will ask them.

Thanks again.

Re: Supported hardware for QNX 4.25
Hello,

I wasn't able to test this hardware under QNX 4.25 yet. But I think to ensure that it works, the best way is buy a demo
device and test it, isn't it?
Your meanings about x86 compatibility is the same than mine, so I see no potential reason it shouldn't run.

As you said, Marvell chipset is definitely not supported, so device #1 (see posting #1 in this topic) is no choice for
me.

If there are news about this HW compatibility, I'll attatch them in this topic.

Thanks a lot so far!

Regards,
Toni
Re: Supported hardware for QNX 4.25
Our customer reports that the MSI u100 netbook works fine with QNX 4.25. HW
configuration is:

1. Atom N270
2. 945GSE + ICH7M
3. Video 8086:27ae (Pg.i830 latest build)
4. SATA 8086:27c4 (Fsys.atapi)
5. Network Realtek 10ec:8136 (Net.rtl8169)
6. USB

Very good information, Oleg ! :-)

Thx,

Re: Supported hardware for QNX 4.25
Hi!

I'm not able to say something about the questionable PC, but my working mate has tested a third one and it did it: AIMB-
210.

It's facts are:
CPU: Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz FSB 533 MHz
Chipset: Intel 945GSE with ICH7M
HDD interfaces: SATA and IDE
Ethernet: Dual 10/100/1000Base-T GbE LAN Realtek RTL8111C

Re: Supported hardware for QNX 4.25
Hi,

Adding Winmate R15IA7T to the list:
-Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz Processor
-1 x DIMM, Max 2GB DDR2 400/533
-Intel 945GSE Integrated (224MB shared )
-1 x 44pin IDE (UDMA 33/66/100)/2xSATA
-Dual Realtek RTL8111B Ethernet

Both ethernet ports are working with Net.rtl8169 but on hi loads (copying big files for a long time) drivers hangs.
Updated Net.rtl8169 is working fine - think it'll be available in Updates section soon.
Photon is working with Hydra.ms and Pg.flatdc.

Vladimir
